Post Processor's are configuration files which tell the software how to output toolpaths into a format that your CNC Machines controller can read.
They come in the form of a Post Processor .pp file, and these can be opened in any normal Text Editor.
We use Notepad++ as an example of this type of program.
We also include a Post Processor editing guide here:
https://docs.vectric.com/docs/V12.5/Aspire/ENU/Help/form/post-processor-editing/index.html
You can create a custom version of an existing Post Processor by going to the Machine menu > Post Processor Management.
Then locate your Post Processor in the master list and right click it.
Select the "Customize" option.
Once this is done, you will find the Post Processor at the very top of the Post Processor list with a pencil icon beside it.
Right click this entry, and use the Open File Location... option.
This will take you to the My_PostP folder where the actual .pp file is.
From there you can apply any edits you wish to make to the file.
Once done, make sure to add the Post Processor to your machine profile as per the Machine configuration tutorial: https://www.vectric.com/support/tutorials/aspire/?category=toolpath-faqs&video=set-up-your-machine-configuration
Please note: if you make any mistakes in the formatting of the Post Processor edits you make, the software will try to detect them and alert you about them when the software starts, but if you include commands that are formatted correctly but not actually suitable for your CNC machine to receive, you can cause errors on your machine, and possible damage. Always manually review the first few toolpaths you generate after editing a Post Processor to sanity check those results.
